# Collaboration

> Invite teammates to your project and work together in real time.

Openv2 projects are shareable — multiple signed-in users can work against the same cloud project simultaneously. You control what each person can do through roles.

## Roles

| Role       | What they can do                                                                                                              |
| ---------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Owner**  | Full control: send AI prompts, edit files, run terminal commands, manage invites, and access billing.                         |
| **Editor** | Send AI prompts, edit files, and run terminal commands — the same as the owner, subject to credit limits.                     |
| **Viewer** | Browse the workspace and read files, but cannot send AI prompts or make edits. The UI shows a read-only collaboration notice. |

  Only invite people you trust as editors. Editors can run terminal commands and modify any file in your shared project environment.

## Invite a collaborator

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the invite dialog">
    From the project header, click **Invite collaborators**. The exact label may vary slightly depending on your plan and UI version.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a role">
    Select **Editor** to give the person full editing access, or **Viewer** to grant read-only access.

  <Step title="Share the invite link">
    Openv2 generates a unique invite link in the format:

    ```
    https://openv2.dev/invite/project/{PROJECT_ID}?role=editor
    ```

    Copy it and send it to your collaborator — via email, Slack, or any other channel.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Collaborator joins">
    When the recipient opens the link, they are prompted to sign in if they are not already. After signing in, they are added to the project and redirected to the project workspace automatically.

<Note>
  Invite links encode the role at the time they were generated. If you want to grant a different role later, generate a new invite link or update the collaborator's role from your project settings.

## Presence

When other collaborators are active in your project, their **avatars** appear in the project header. This lets you know at a glance who else is working alongside you.

## Comments

Where enabled, the **Comments** panel lets you leave async notes on the project without mixing discussion into the main AI chat thread. Use comments to flag decisions, leave context for teammates, or track open questions.
